Health Ministry to supply new equipment to 85 hospitals

The Ministry of Health has announced it will from January 6 to February 28, 2014, install medical equipment in all 85 district hospitals across the country

A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Tony Goodman indicated the exercise “forms part of efforts by government to replace obsolete equipment and retool all hospitals across the country.”

The Ministry is doing this under the National Medical Equipment Replacement Project.

Facilities to be benefited under this project are; rehabilitation and construction works, equipment replacement, maintenance and training for end users for more than 150 hospitals of the National Health Network, among them 2 Teaching Hospitals, 7 Regional Hospitals, more than 125 District Hospitals, 14 Health Centers and 8 Mobile Clinics.
